Wing Coop One

The Wing Coop has a program that directs all of our resources and energy into a single program - Wing Coop One. Under this program, we set aside 1% of all Wing Coop Profits for use in the community. The primary focus of Wing Coop One is providing financial assistance to local organizations that help people enjoy the outdoors in a responsible manner.

To make the amount of financial support meaningful and to limit the cost of administration, The Wing Coop has established very simple rules and defined boundaries for administrating the program. Those principles are as follows:

• Only non-profit organizations (NPO)s are eligible for support. They must demonstrate designation as a 501(c) under the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(c))
• No more and no less than three organizations will be supported at any one time in any community.
• Organizations are selected by our board every six months.
• No organization may be selected more than once in any 12 month period.
• There is no formal application process.
• Organizations are not permitted to contact retails stores directly. Any organization that attempts to circumvent the written process will be ruled out from consideration.

Wing Coop One has established some simple criteria for the selection process when choosing organizations to receive funds. We ask that groups have the following characteristics:

• Locally focused in their efforts.
• Fosters a lifetime appreciation for the outdoors.
• Don’t use lawsuits as a principle form of advocacy.
• Promotes education as a form of participation.
• Isn't redundent to other organizations.
